Your Donations Keep Us Afloat — And Any Amount Helps!

Did you know that more than half of our operating budget is supported through contributions made by individuals? We remain committed to our donors by valuing transparency, inclusion, communication and appreciation. We work hard to build and maintain your trust in our work to be good stewards of your investment.

We gladly accept monetary donations (cash and checks) at our Food Pantries and Warehouse. Thurston County Food Bank does not provide any goods or services in return for donations. We do not share donor information with other organizations. For more information, please see our Donor Privacy Policy. We honor donor intent and if you wish to support a specific program, your donation will be directed accordingly.

Credit Card

You can easily make an online credit card donation to the Food Bank (though 4.7% of your donation plus $0.30 goes to cover processing fees). You are given the option to cover these fees when you make a donation.

Online Bill Payer

For online bankers, a bill payer service is another donor option. The food bank receives paper checks from several third party services, primarily “Online Resources.”

Donating Vehicles

You may donate cars, trucks, RVs, boats, motorcycles and other vehicles to us and take a charitable tax deduction on your federal tax return. Your donated vehicle will be sold at auction, with the proceeds benefitting the Food Bank.

Payroll Deduction

Many people choose to donate through payroll deduction and these contributions make up a significant portion of our operating budget! There are 3 options:

State Employees – Combined Fund Drive
Federal Employees – Combined Federal Campaign
Private Sector Employees – United Way

Stocks/Mutual Funds

The Food Bank gratefully accepts donations of stocks or mutual funds. For some donors, this represents a better alternative to giving cash. Please download our fillable Mutual Funds or Stock Donation Form to facilitate the transfer of funds.

Bequests

Please consider including a donation to Thurston County Food Bank in your estate plan. Charitable bequests to a nonprofit organization from a will or trust that combine philanthropy and tax benefits are one of the most popular and flexible ways to support the causes that are important to you and your family. Required Minimum Distributions (RMD)

Individuals who are required to divest a portion of their retirement account can direct those funds to the Thurston County Food Bank. We are a qualified charitable nonprofit organization and able to assist you in this process. Please contact us for information and assistance!
