SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM

Accessing meals during summer break can be challenging for families with children and teens who rely on free and reduced lunches during the school year. Our Summer Lunch Program provides healthy sack lunches to ensure that youth ages 18 and under in underserved areas continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Our staff and volunteers prepare the meals in the Olympia Food Pantry kitchen and drive along a fixed route to deliver the meals.

Meal Sites

Join us for a free, delicious meal and fun activities! During the summer, staff and volunteers stop at several apartment complexes and mobile home parks to serve meals. Per USDA guidelines, children are required to eat their meal on site. No registration is required—come to whichever location works best for you.

Check here and on our social media in late May/early June for a Summer Lunch Meal map with times, locations and downloadable information.

Accommodations for special dietary needs

Meal accommodations may be made if your child has special dietary needs. To request a meal accommodation, please complete the Special Dietary Needs Request form and submit it to our Children & Teen’s Services Coordinator. Forms are available here in English or Spanish, and at each of our Summer Lunch sites. Forms must be signed by a licensed medical authority and filled out completely. Our Summer Lunch Program will work to accommodate the child’s needs as soon as they are aware of the request.
